Up and running in two minutes
From download to sending timecode on every protocol. Follow the steps in order — most shows only need the first three.
Install LTCast
Download the Windows installer or the macOS Universal DMG. The macOS build is Apple-notarized, so it opens without the “unidentified developer” warning. First launch starts your 30-day Pro trial automatically — no account, no credit card.
Go to downloadsSet up a virtual cable (only for LTC / MTC)
Art-Net and OSC work over the network with nothing extra. To send LTC into other software, install a free virtual audio cable — VB-CABLE on Windows, BlackHole on macOS. For MTC / MIDI Clock, use loopMIDI on Windows or the built-in IAC Driver on macOS.
Load a track and play
Drag an audio file in. LTCast auto-detects the LTC channel and frame rate, draws both waveforms, and shows the timecode. Hit play — LTC, MTC, MIDI Clock, Art-Net, and OSC all stream out together from the same clock.
Pick your outputs
In Devices, choose where LTC audio goes (your virtual cable or interface) and which MIDI port carries MTC / Clock. Enable Art-Net and OSC with the target console / media-server IP. Run the Pre-Show Check before doors to confirm everything is live.
Chase external timecode (optional)
If another device is the master clock, switch to Chase mode and pick the audio input carrying LTC. LTCast locks to the incoming timecode and re-broadcasts it as MTC / Art-Net / OSC — turning one LTC feed into every protocol.
Share the clock with your crew
Turn on Viewer Mirror and share the URL (and PIN) with the team. Anyone on the same network opens it on a phone or laptop to see live timecode, the current song, and the next cue. The Stage Monitor shows you who’s connected and their status.
Drive it from a Stream Deck (optional)
Install the official Bitfocus Companion module to map transport, song select, and cues onto physical keys. It connects to LTCast over a local WebSocket. OSC Input works too — play / pause / next / select-song from any OSC controller.
